Awards

1. Shortlist
   The most interesting entries with will be archived in the "Shortlist" section of the site, reviewed by our reputable category supervisors and forwarded for further Machinista distinctions.



2. Festival Travel Grants
   For the festival in Glasgow (May 7-9th 2004) we will commission at least 3 participants to present their entries in person (perform/install their work at one of the offline events)... These commissions will include travel to Glasgow, accommodation and fee.

3. Residencies

Artists Residencies have been confirmed with

• Vienna, Austria, Roboexotica www.roboexotica.org
• K@2 in Liepaja Karosta, Latvia www.karosta.lv
• RIXC and ART HOME in Riga, Latvia www.rixc.lv
• State Center of Contemporary Arts in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

4. Machinista DVDs
   500 Machinista DVDs (out of 1000 produced) will be shared amongst the participants whose audio-visual entries have been selected for the compilation (25 to 50 copies each).
   The copyright holders for the selected pieces will be asked to register their track with a "Creative Commons Licence" which grants limited copying and distribution rights for agreed usage of your work whilst promoting it. www.creativecommons.org



5. Remote Exhibition
   Many pieces from the online exhibition will be showcased during the various offline events. Their authors will be given the opportunity to remotely collaborate with the exhibitions and event curators and have their work profiled in the exhibition catalogue.
